Litigation
Although not desirable (if often understood as "ultima ratio"), sometimes it is not possible to avoid arguments over different viewpoints and to solve the conflict only between the parties involved. In such cases there are legal regulations which offer certain ways of conflict settling and ruling. The knowledge of these ways and related opportunities and risks is of importance already before an argument takes place; the course can be set in advance in such a manner that in a concrete case a suited third-party decision is reached. Conflict-solving itself involves different "rules", the understanding of which can be of decisive importance for a successful outcome.
